God bless the God(s) who decided that amazon.de would be the place that I stumble upon a VERY AFFORDABLE item which I ended up recieving yesterday in the post what I consider to be the holiest musical grail (bar the original quasi-release or the OFFICIAL original legitimate copy):



Yep. It's OFFICIAL. And...the price was AMAZING. Roughly 6 Euros ($8 in Trashy's currency and about £5.50 for Curmy's squids). Ahhh, wish I could hear The Curmudgeon right now:

I've actually got three versions of the Black Album. The one you have now (does it have no cover, no track list just the words "Limited Edition" on it?) and two bootleg versions with extra tracks on. A weird, brilliant album that gets better with time. I use the garbled, freaky intro on website profiles all the time, "So.. U found me. Good, I'm glad."

I remember playing Bob George when I was in school, the day before the school closed for Christmas. The teacher listened to it for about a minute before describing it as "satanic" and switching if off. Sigh.. I wish I was making that up.

I've got the German release (the cataloge number on the spine indicates it's so). It also has the Warner Bros. symbol stamped right near the center hole in the plastic so I know it's official. I think BOB GEORGE is not only funky, funny as hell but also more proof that Prince is dripping with talent. That material is dark as hell and yet it's beat is so funky that my girl commented that although she couldn't believe it was Prince doing the lyrics "you can really dance to this!"

Cindy C. is all kinds of awesome, too.

The Black Album is great, even if there's a hidden message in the Alphabet Street video saying, "Don't Buy the Black Album. I'm sorry." The one time even my brainwashed Prince obsessive self said, "yeah, right!"

Nope...not heard "LotusFlow3r" yet....hoping to find a way to get it (and 1999) soon enough!

"Before your time?" I actually quite like FOR YOU and think it holds up quite well...even for today's standards. Some of Prince's songs can be...something else, so to speak, but he "hits" far more than he "misses." And I think it's great that he can find new ways to do essentially what he's been doing for years.
