Today's the day that music lovers should ditch those downloads and head off to their nearest local, independant music shop instead.
My love for these sorts of places has been expressed many times (I just love browsing through vast racks of CD's trying to find some elusive, rare gem), and this is the official day to celebrate them. Bands like Blur, Hole and even the Rolling Stones have all released new or previously unheard material in collectors edition formats to get people in the shops. An excellent local store I go into had people lining up, literally out of the door and up the street! In this age of disposable music and joyless hard-drives of mp3's, seeing something like that certainly made my day. Oh, and I bought an old Bowie single and a New Pornographers album, both of which I couldn't get in high streett chains.
So, get out there and celebrate and try to keep these places alive.

I'd love to, but my CD player in my car crapped out so it's all iPod all the time for me now. My computer died a little while before that and I haven't re-installed iTunes on my new one yet since my Pod is full anyways. But sooner or later, I'm going to have to replace my CD player so I can buy more CD's or at least listen to the last ones I bought again. What a pain.
