God bless Cracked.com. I log in every couple of days and it gives me hilarious, insightful stuff each and every time. This article, though, about video games, the people who play them and the negative stereotypes, is superb. www.cracked.com/article_18571_5-reasons-its-still-not-cool-to-admit-youre-gamer_p1.htmlYou can tell the guy who wrote this is deeply passionate about the subject, and he makes about 302 great points. And it's funny to boot. Excellent stuff.

That link starts on page 2.
God, Ebert is an ignorant piece of shit. "Boycott the greed, use a torrent." Surely that Amazonian detected some sort of irony there, right? How about "Boycott your own fucking greed and BUY IT if you wish to play it"? The author is mistaken if he thinks gaming hasn't grown up. It's the gamers that didn't. And he is extremely dead wrong about the storytelling. Oh really? he's disappointed that Halo has a lot of aliens being shot in it? What kind of stupidity is that? So what do you want to do as the object of the game exactly? Just because you shoot aliens doesn't mean the story is bad. If you are going to make a 15 hour game, you are probably going to have to need something to do besides watching story cutscenes for at least a good chunk of that time. Shooting aliens seems like a decent passtime seeing as to it's a videogame and all. Jesus fuck, this guy has serious irony detection issues as well. Complaining about gamers being whiny and then whining because he bought a game when what he wanted was a movie. He fails to mention a single game that he doesn't think is stupid. yet he continues to play them. Why? If I thought every single movie I watched was "mindless" and I didn't like that then I'd find a new hobby. Does he want a game where you solve mathematical equations while watching Citizen Kane or what?
