Got a minute? Cos this is all it's gonna take. Well, a minute and 3 seconds, but you get the idea. This band are a bit of a headache to write about, because their name means I constantly have to check the CD to see if I'm spelling it correctly. It's Dananananaykroyd, an obvious pun on Dan Aykroyd but also the 60s Batman theme tune. A Scottish band who, whilst never troubling any significant sales charts, still deliver quirky, jerky lo-fi rock with smart lyrics and catchy hooks, but who also deliver ear-shredding punk noise like the song you're about to hear. Cute story; they had an EP that was pretty hard to get hold of. You certainly couldn't get it in stores and I was constantly being outbid on ebay for it. Then I went to see them live in a pretty tiny venue (and they were SUPERB), they were selling it for a fiver (what, seven dollars?) and I got it signed by the whole band. I love when shit like that happens. Quick note - this is a fan video (this track wasn't released as a single) so I have no idea who the people in this video are. THIS is what Dananananaykroyd look like.. (Although the cute girl has now departed) And THIS is what Dananananaykroyd sound like.. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jn3Ni19L8fU

So when you say their name, do you really have to sing the Batman theme to it? And is there any way to say it without singing that people won't assume you are stuttering? Either way, with a name like that it's safe to say the pop charts are off limits. Hilarious. Badass song too.

No need for the theme tune unfortunatly, but yeah, it really does sound like you're fumbling over your words when you talk about them. And yeah, I can't imagine them playing on the X Factor anytime soon...
