Another year, another Spider-Man game. You really had to wonder where else they could go with these games. Fight Venom. Play as Venom. Play as Spider-Man fused with the symbiote. Now... play as four different realities of Spider-Man; there's your friendly neighborhood variety, Spider-Man noir (Spidey set in the 30s), Spider-Man 2099 and Ultimate Spider-Man. Looks pretty sweet to me, but haven't we seen this same game engine too many times now? Trailer for the Spider-Men www.youtube.com/watch?v=90BmP93b1pQand trailer for the villains www.youtube.com/watch?v=rRY_8RIVtCoIt's nice to see a few different villains for once (don't think Kraven's been in one of these games before, and certainly never seen Hammerhead) and the addition of the first person perspective hands looks like a nice touch. I seldom buy games, but this sort of thing will always be an obvious purchase, unoriginal or not.

I'm having to sit this one out. There is simply too much awesome coming out in the last quarter of the year and I'm not crazy about the premise either.
As far as comic games go, I'm holding out for this baby in a year.
Mark Hamill says it will be his final performance in his best role of the last few decades.

ACTUALLY, this game was pretty damn good. Probably only worth $30. And with Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, Brink, L.A. Noire, The Force Unleashed 2, etc. Coming out, I can see saving your money for something better. But this is the best Spider-Man game of all time. Then again, look at it's competition...

I LOVED the original Playstation Spider-Man. So awesome. Everything since has been decent, but none of them have blown me away. Web of Shadows was cool. I've got Fable 3 coming up shortly plus Fallout: New Vegas (although I am strongly considering waiting a year or so for the inevitable GOTY edition with all the DLC included), Dead Rising 2 (I predict a price drop in a few months or I may get somebody to get if for me for Christmas), and Call of Duty: Black Ops (which I may skip on principle since all the fanboys at work are hounding me about that one) all out this month or next. And I'm not even done with Halo: Reach yet.
