Nowadays, it seems the trend to "hate on" Garfield and the long, long running comic strips for their lack of any real progression and repeating the same formula over and over. The thing is, you don't READ a Garfield story for the storyline arcs. The strip is, as it should be, part of the "funnies" section of your newspaper. That's it. It's not a fucking graphic novel you're reading. Anyway, think Garfield strips are all about Lasagne, sending cute grey cats to Abu Dhabi and kicking Odi off tables? What about this bizarre tale, that must've had many newspaper readers scratching their heads back in 89. www.garfield.com/comics/vault.html?yr=1989&addr=891023

You forgot squashing spiders. Man, Garfield used to be my favorite (along with Calvin and Hobbes). I have a whole damn drawer of nothing but old Garfield books. I don't remember that little story, but then again it's been like two decades since I've read those books.
