As far as underrated old school video games go, the Splatterhouse series surely has to get a mention. Simplistic it may have been, but there was something so damned COOL about playing the not-at-all Jason Vorhees character and wading through piles of rotting corpses and all kinds of gruesome creatures. I mean, any game where THIS is your hero.. Gets an immediate thumbs up from me. So when I heard they were making a NEW Splatterhouse game I was more than a little excited. Who knew what kinds of genuine horror could be unleashed with today's gaming power? Then I saw the trailer. www.youtube.com/watch?v=GDMUj8jVlr4I think it says a lot for the game when the Jason clone no longer resembles Jason Vorhees, but is clearly WWE wrestler John Cena in a shit mask. Spot the difference. (Hint - there isn't one). Trainers (sorry, sneakers?) Check. Cut off denim shorts? Check. Chain around the hip? Check. Impossibly muscled physique? Check. Groan and face-palm? Double check. If the boiler suit isn't an unlockable extra in this game, I will riot.

Not much splattering going on there. I recall the original, but video game remakes are going the way of Hollywood remakes these days. hear the Bionic Commando remake was crap as well.
