A lot of these kinds of lists are exaggerated and occasionally made up, but this one hits the nail on the head every time. www.ugo.com/games/25-annoying-gamer-habitsYou know, I used to hate griefing until I started watching videos of it on youtube. Now it's hilarious as long as it isn't happening to me. Go to 4:00 for ultimate griefing awesomeness. "Need a dispenser here!"

A few of them I actually agree with. The self-righteous "I'm not funding them" pirate attitude I see ALL the time, and I often wonder if I only think games were better back when I was a kid because, you know, I was a kid. I mean, obviously games are BETTER now, but I think some of the charm is gone. Certainly in video game arcades, one of my all time favourite haunts when I was a kid. I wouldn't be seen dead in them now. Also worth a look is the Top 50 Video Game Cliches.. www.ugo.com/games/top-50-worst-video-game-cliches

See, that's what I'm talking about when I say exaggerated and made up. Being in one game series does not make it a cliche and neither do technological limitations. And Dead Rising has women's rest rooms. dead-rising.wikia.com/wiki/Dead_Rising_RestroomsHere's a random sampling of more bullshit from that list: Swords are only better than guns in ...well, pretty much Final Fantasy games. Not a lot of swords going on in Call of Duty or Contra. I'm pretty sure nobody breaks up fights in real life either. At least, not at my high school. You have to really fuck up consistently in Rock Band or Guitar Hero for the crowd to boo. Frankly, the same thing would likely happen in real life. I don't know of any modern games where characters walk in place. Least of all, Fallout. Also, sharks can't breathe by swimming in place (if that's possible). They need to actually move forward to push water through their gills. Ravenholm in always called Ravenholm? That's not a cliche, that is just the actual name of a fictional town and it's only in one game. That's like saying I'm cliche because my screen name is always trashcanman. Trashcanman is a snarky bastard? You don't say?

I didn't actually get what "walk in place" even meant. What was the joke there?

The only thing I can think of is Final Fantasy Tactics, which is a turn-based strategy game. Even when the characters are not moving, they all walk in place. I wish to God I knew why they have a pic from Fallout 3 there. Man, that list is so full of shit. I barely even got into it. Real gaming cliches are things like enemies that deliberately take cover behind or next to explosive objects in a firefight or you healing 30 bullet wounds by eating an apple or something that actually happens in games often. Dinosaurs existing is a gaming cliche.....in a game named Dino Crisis? ARRRRGH! No, zombies are a gaming cliche. They are even in Call of Duty now. Explain that one to me.
