Or soccer to the American Dwellers. Whatever, I'm pretty sure you imagine it's not a world where a little sexism = major, MAJOR controversy. Yeah, who knew?
This is Andy Gray and Richard Keys, two of the lead commentators and presenters of football for Sky Sports. Sky Sports basically have the entire sports world wrapped up in the UK. If you watch a sport; boxing, football, wrestling, cricket, golf, racing - Sky Sports have bought the exclusive rights to it and you will pay to watch it.
Anyway, they've been with Sky Sports since it's initial launch in 1992 (when the whole company was seen as something of a joke.. yeah, how'd that work out?) and the fact they're pictured with "Sky 3D" means they were going to be very much part of UK Sport's future.
Until this.

Oh, and I don't know the offside rule either. Mrs C tries to explain it to me and all I hear is my own theme tune playing in my head. Anyway, cue front page fucking HYSTERIA of sexism, and then this other footage was unearthed following the "scandal."

Basically, he's tucking his mic into his trousers and asks (the really pretty hot, oh no, am I being sexist now?) Charlotte to do it for him.
Both he and Richard were sacked from Sky Sports after almost 20 years.
I don't watch football so I don't really give a shit, but.. really, am I alone in thinking this is complete bullshit? They makes a couple of off-air comments that, OK, won't exactly win them any prizes in the feminist stakes, but is it really something to demonize them for? This is huge, everyone-is-talking-about-it news over here right now, and a lot of people are in the "sack them, it'a a disgrace" camp. Really though, for what? It's fucking baffling.
Welcome to the UK.
