If you don't want to see one of the main "attractions" to Alien vs Predator: Requiem look away now.... Are they gone? Good. OK, remember how the first AvP movie ended? With the Alien bursting from The Predator? Well, its all grown up now.. Looks pretty cool, but what is also so encouraging about this film (besides its far more violent content) is the fact they're using far less CGI than before, (they are using 12 suits) and they're trying to make it more in the mould of the earlier films. Could be good...

I saw this two days ago (forgot to post it... ). I'm VERY encouraged by what they're doing with this film AND how the Predalien looks. Is it me, or does it look like Venom took a rastafarian vacatian, smoked some fine "Mary Jane" and got those dreds he's always wanted?

I'm not feeling the predalien at all. You've got your Alien, you've got your Predator, what purpose could this thing possibly serve, except to bring down the whole film like that human-alien thing from "Alien: Resurrection"? I'll give this flick a chance based on that killer trailer, but I just wish they'd stick to the basics, ya know?

I'll give this flick a chance based on that killer trailer, but I just wish they'd stick to the basics, ya know? I get what you're saying, but I don't think we have to worry about anything in this movie matching the stupidity of that human-alien creature. I'm looking forward to this movie for its sheer entertainment potential. As messy and underdeveloped as it was, I actually enjoyed the 2004 matchup, and with this new flick's promise of more creature action and more practical effects work I think it could end up being all the more delectable. At the same time, though, I can't help but miss the days of James Cameron and Ridley Scott, when terror took emphasis before gore in these movies and you could appreciate them for their masterful quality and skillful execution and not just the basic action entertainment. Although apparently that's what these Strause brothers are going for with this new film, so here's hoping. But I don't think any new films with these creatures will ever be able to touch Alien, Aliens, or Predator. Still, this new movie should be fun. One thing I do find funny is that Fox are pulling a complete 180 from the last film where they toned everything down to get a PG-13 rating in North America so that the younger crowd could pay their box office money to see it. Now, they went and released that red-band trailer complete with excess gore and profanity throughout. I love it. Even the title emphasizes the R rating of the movie when abbreviated as " AVPR".
