I don't know why, maybe it's being away from newspapers and the net for a week, but I'm currently pretty much in the dark regarding the strike. It's not a shrug-off affair either - this could potentially throw the entire movie business on its back and kick it in the balls. That's me being technical.
So what IS the deal, exactly? Anyone know which shows have been affected or what films have been canned or delayed?

www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-strike6nov06,1,4503593.story?coll=la-headlines-business&track=crosspromo Studios tend to load up on scripts and screenplays well in advance of shooting for both movies and television shows, so the big hit probably won't come unless this strike stretches to a year or so. I say pay the men/women. They are the main creative geniuses behind our favorite storylines and they deserve a big piece of the pie. I'd hate for "Lost" or "Galactica" to be postponed even more, but fuck the studios. The only shows that have been hit so far are the nightly's, though I hear "Desperate Houswives" and a few other aren't going to get far since the producers are supporting the writers and refusing to work. I've also heard that animation studios are getting some major influxes of talent thanks to the out-of-work writers so animation fans like myself may be set for a major boon.
