Internet culture has taken a decidedly negative turn in the past decade, I think we can agree. Go onto a gaming message board and read a thousand topics about how much their favorite game sucks and every feature is for noobs. Go on AICN and read the talkbacks about how Tarantino is an untalented hack who hasn't made a watchable film since Reservoir Dogs or how overrated The Empire Strikes Back is. To be a real geek these days, you aren't allowed to like anything at all if the internet community has anything to say about it. And if you are an attractive woman who enjoys any of these things that they supposedly love and somehow still hate......watch out.

Yeah, nothing says "crown me Miss USA" like referencing sex and violence-filled fantasy shows from cable television. Beats the hell out of saying you're into world peace or animal rights or some other utter pandering bullshit, if you ask me. Now, I see a girl like that and the first thing I think is
I've had plenty of conversations online and offline with attractive and personable women about video games, anime, comics, Asian grindhouse films, and all sorts of other geekiness. It's okay for other people to like stuff that doesn't suck, even if you find them attractive. You assholes. And no, being a nerd will not give you an edge in a fucking beauty pageant. She's hot, she likes stuff that is badass, and she has the balls to say so on national television rather than sit behind a keyboard and bitch. Deal with it.
