Well, you Americans seem to get all the good stuff before us in the UK, so it's only fair you get first looks at the crap as well.

OK, I haven't seen the new Flash Gordon tv series, but from what I've read it's not just average, it's borderline awful. How the hell could they have messed up such a great franchise?

Well, making Ming the Merciless go from this..

The recognised look of one of the best villains ever, to

He looks like a bank manager.

So, the general opinion is that the Flash Gordon of 2007 is a bit of a joke. But the hell with "general opinion"; we all know the opinions in The Fortress are what counts. So has anyone seen this yet? Is it worth catching when it finally beams onto our screens in the UK?

Nah, I just expanded on your "bank manager" comment on Ming The Merciless. Naturally, if he's a bank manager....then Flash would have to be one of those consultants that come in, assess the success of the bank...and then proceed to downsize in order to remove Ming. The words of the song would, naturally, be Ming's...... ;D

I thought it was pretty funny.
