First up, I present your new Bane: I honestly don't much care for this as it's pretty much more over-the-top than Bane has ever been in the comics, where he is pretty much a massive dude in a mask, like so. I suppose they are going for some psycho Hannibal Lector kind of deal with the mask, but I say keep it simple and practical. Next on the chopping block, the villainess we've all been waiting for: Now, interestingly enough, this is the one that has fans in an uproar. OMG no ears! Unthinkable! But I say we should give this one a chance. For one thing, that is ONE FUCKING IMAGE (plus a bts shot from the shoot) of her on a Catpod or whatever the hell you want to call that thing. All she has to do is pull a hood over her head (with or without ears) before a job and it's Catwoman. I approve. Now where oh where is Talia al Ghul?

Oh man, do I not like that. Maybe it's just a bad photo, but instead of the rage and fury of Bane, it just looks like a bored fat guy in a gimp mask.
See, that's the problem with comics. Artists can make the impossible look not only possible, but also practical and damn cool. In film sometimes stuff just.. doesn't work. Again, too early to tell for sure, but.. I don't like it one bit.
As for Catwoman. Meh. They need to do something to make her look less like the Black Widow/Elektra/Dark Angel/Alias stereotype of hot girl in skin-tight black. We've seen that a million times. She needs a mask or something. Yeah, it's a couple of pics, but they don't look like she had a cowl at the start that she pulled down.
Hmmmm. Not impressed.

I think Hathaway's got to be overselling it, but I do believe that there's going to be unexpected Cat-related awesome in that flick so I'll take her word for it. But Bane is a dude in a luchador mask. That is not hard to do. Mexican wrestlers do it all the time. No need to "extreme" him up, just make him the complete Napoleonic badass he should be and he's Bane. Even without a mask or anything, as long as they get the character right, I'd hardly complain.

The full catsuit has been revealed. Looks a bit cheap. Goggles would have been better.

Yeah that looks like something from a costume shop. I don't know what they could have done to make it look any better, but, seriously, still not been beaten.

Burton's did the trick, all right. Hathaway's Zorro mask just looks kind of cheesy.

It's impossible to tell from these early on-set photos, but.. I'm just not getting a good feeling about this third film at ALL. Could it fall into the perilous Trilogy trap that Spidey and the X-Men fell into?

It does seem to be tradition.
