Now i was at a pub quiz the other day (which we won) and they had a round on childerns TV from a while back. I remember a few from mine and noticed how much better they are than the shite that kids now adays get fed! Every kids program wants to teach them stuff nowadays! What happened to making awsome cartoons!
I know our ages may differ, and countries, but what cartoons do you remember from your childhood?
What lessons did you learn from them(if any, and not just being awsome)?

Well, we've already had a few threads on cartoons that have shaped our childhood, but Vegas has hit upon something that I don't think we've touched upon before. Yes, Thundercats, Transformers, He-Man etc were all superb, but there were a ton of shows that I watched when I was younger that were pretty much UK only. Looking at the following Youtube clips, I can't BELIEVE how cheap and, well, crap, these shows looks like now. But man, Back In The Day (I do apologise for that) I LOVED these shows. Check out the ultra camp pantomime nonsense of Rod Hull and Emu (who was basically an icon in the UK) www.youtube.com/watch?v=cCJMkDhhiX8&feature=relatedI grinned like a loon watching that clip. And what about this BRILLIANT cartoon, "Stoppit and Tidyup". Basically every character was named after something your parents said (nowadays I imagine one would be called "shut the fuck up", but I digress) and it was just gleefully surreal. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qy8eBxBppCgMore animation, this time of a plasticine variety, with the timeless Trap Door. I've only included the intro, but seriously, how COOL is this for kids? www.youtube.com/watch?v=iDs8VMz-cucOooh, I could go on all day about this topic. But Vegas has started something here; were there kids shows that were more aimed towards a local market, not world famous stuff like D&D etc, when you were growing up?
