So the big surprise at this years sundance film festival appears to be this little gem. 'Being Elmo' Follows the life of one of Sesame Streets main puppeteers and the guy responsible for Elmo. www.cinemablend.com/new/Being-Elm....reet-26938.htmlI am quite excited for this as I was a big watcher of Sesame Street even as a teenager I had a certain affinity to it and then they canceled it over here in 2001. They brought it back in 2008 but only on BBC Northern Ireland 'As of 2011, the broadcast of Sesame Street in the UK was limited to BBC Northern Ireland, which has aired Sesame Tree since 2008. The Disney Channel and Channel 5 broadcast three of the show's spin-offs, Play With Me Sesame, Elmo's World, and Bert and Ernie's Great Adventures. Channel 5 preferred to dub British voices onto their imported shows, and feels that utilizing puppets is outdated. The BBC has stood by its original decision, and its position that other children's programmes in the UK cover similar learning themes and values.' I think the whole thing is ridiculous especially when you look at the quality of children's shows over here. I think we really need Big Bird & friends. I wouldn't be the grouchy, surly, sarcastic girl that I am today if it wasn't for this dude. I Love you Grouch!

Sunny day, chasing the clouds awaaaayyy...
It'd just be weird to not have Sesame Street on the air. Dubbing the voices and "outdated" puppets? Psh. I'm trying to picture Oscar the Grouch with a British accent. He sounds like Gordon Ramsey when he's pissed. I love that it's still controversial with Katy Perry's cleavage and Burt and Ernie's proposed marriage making waves.

Fun fact: there's a Facebook group called "Katy Perry's Tits." Well, really, who DOESN'T "Like" them? On topic - yeah, kids can't relate to "outdated" puppets anymore. That's why in that video, even with the guy walking around with his hand clearing up Elmo's ass, the kids are still in love with it. There's no modern day puppets because there are no genuinely funny, engaging and talented kids TV stars anymore. British TV institutions like Rod Hull just don't exist now. What a damn shame.

I forgot what we were talking about for like 30 seconds when I scrolled to that Perry pic. Sculpted by God himself, those babies were. My son goddamn loves Elmo. Screw that "outdated" noise.
