Gordon Ramsay has been mentioned a few times in the Fortress before, and it's no secret I'm a fan, and not just when he's in super psycho mode, verbally tearing people in half. Gordon Ramsay in Kitchen Nightmares and especially The F Word is an entirely different creature to the one seen in Hell's Kitchen. Pleasant, funny and without the slightest hint of a "star" ego.
The Kitchen Nightmares premise, then; a family owned or local restaurant (never a chain) is in big trouble. No customers, no money.. enter Gordon, who shows them the error of their ways, reunites a broken family, gets the place back to making money, and rides off into the night on a white horse (probably). There's usually a bit of hostility along the way, as disgruntled chef's have to watch Ramsay mock his cooking and.. well, you get the idea.
No more hostile though, than in this clip. I couldn't find just the moment I wanted, so I had to find the whole episode. Before this clip, the fat chef got right in Ramsay's face after Gordon found he was lying about when certain food was cooked, and told him, basically, "I'm trying to help. There's no point lying to me. Have the balls to tell the truth." That last sentence was enough for a macho comeback.
This is where the real fun is, though. It's a shame I couldn't find the clip without the cuss words being removed, but the fat chef calls Gordon an "asshole", which of course, Gordon refers to as "arsehole."
Skip to around the 15 minute mark, right up until 20:05, when you witness a puffed chest deflated, an arrogant prick soundly defeated.. and, not surprisingly, fired immediately after.
