Calvin and Hobbs were never as popular in the UK as they were (are?) in the US, but that's pretty adorable. I could happily read a book of that stuff. It's certainly better than recent DC comics.

C&H are pretty legendary to kids in my generation. I had all of the books (and probably still do somewhere). Watterson went out at the top of the game and NEVER allowed his characters to be licensed for merchandising or anything else. Smart man. Must have anticipated the horribly unfunny CG-riddled atrocities that pass for funny book adaptations in the modern day.
