Seriously. That is, if you are the guy who made the movie where he played Batman, Joel Schumacher (who have stuck to making shoes). www.comicvine.com/news/joel-schumacher-val-kilmer-was-the-best-batman/143710/Okay, so he may be a bit biased and eager for attention after his shitfests have been forgotten by everyone but bitter, bitter comic geeks in the face of the massive upswing in Batmania. But what really puzzles me here is his statement that The Dark Knight was the movie he wanted to make after Batman Forever. So he wanted to make a movie that wasn't even written yet, but the studio forced him to make one of the biggest embarrassments of all time? Riiiiigggghhhttt. I've just uncovered the production sketches from Schumacher's Dark Knight project: fc09.deviantart.net/fs71/i/2011/038/8/d/retarded_batman_by_aliensacrifice-d392aal.png Schumacher, I'll let the Caped Crusader himself tell you what time it is. Tell it like it is, Bats...

I thought Val Kilmer wasn't a bad Batman at all. He did bring a hint of that tortured soul that Wayne has, even if it was swallowed up in the lightweight fluff of the third movie. That being said, I actually really quite enjoyed Batman Forever. Yeah it was way more cartoony, but I still liked it. It didn't insult the franchise and the intelligence of the fans like the fourth film did. And Clooney was fucking awful as Batman. I don't really think Bale is the best Batman either. That stupid gruff voice he does as Bats is kinda embarrassing. I haven't watched Begins or TDK for a while now, so it may need some re-evaluating. Besides, we all know there's only one REAL Batman.. You know it, haters!

Kevin Conroy is the best Batman. Common knowledge. Yeah, Bale's voice is a joke in a very serious franchise. Conroy rightfully blames the director and producers.
If that's the one they went with, I'd hate to hear the Batman voices Bale tried that didn't make the grade. I don't hate Batman Forever, but it was a disappointment and a big step backward for the franchise any way you look at it.

Oh, Kevin gets the nod, no doubt about it. In fact, as much as people masturbate over TDK, the animated series (and Arkham Asylum) are by far the most faithful adaptation of the comic book. I love the running commentary Batman does during the game. Even though I've played it and completed it about six times, I still don't listen to music when I'm playing that game.
Now, if we could take Bale's physique and Kevin's voice...

Yeah, Bale's the best physical match for sure. Just that fucking voice....
