From the minute I heard of this show, I groaned. Just leave the franchise alone, why don't you?
So I must admit I was NOT looking forward to seeing this show, and pretty much everything about it is wrong.
A sexy teenage terminator (the Hotobaut, as I called her) sent to protect John? The fact that the Terminators sent a standard robot after them this time, instead of something like the T-1000?
And yet..
You know, it wasn't bad. Well, any show that ignores T-3 gets points in my book (ah, it exists in a "different timeline" does it?) and the action and effects were awesome, and the story, if it is given time to breath, looks pretty interesting as well.
So how long till we get the love interest between John and the Terminator though? And are we going to see a different machine brought back every week?
I'll hold judgement (day) right now but.. well.. it could be good.
Anyone else been watching?

I love Summer Glau. There, I said it. Actually, this is a great show with very few flaws. Cameron (the Hautbot in question) is a Terminator with more intelligence and human traits than any before it. She actually seems to have her own agenda which thickens then plot immensely. The reason there is no T-1000? Duh, budget constraints. There are multiple soldiers and bots in it this time so who's to say there aren't more, better Terminators spread out searching for John and the one that happened to find his trail this time was old-school? Check it out, you shouldn't be too disappointed.

I heard two things yesterday..
1. That the Terminator TV show had been canned and 2. That there's going to be a new Terminator movie starring Christian Bale.

Anyone heard these stories?

T4 is happening and will finally bring me what I've wished for from the start: a post-Judgment Day story of the war between the humans and the machines. www.imdb.com/title/tt0438488/ The cancellation rumor appears to be a bunch of crap. www.kansascity.com/entertainment/story/486532.html There is an upcoming 2-hour season finale that is promising a major cliffhanger which seems an odd advertising stategy for a show that is cancelled. Plus, the ratings have been solid. Fox still owes us big time over the "Firefly" debacle and I doubt they're in the mood for another lengthy hatemail campaign from sci-fi geeks. Lots to look forward to!

Update. The series finale was a resounding success in my book (there was Johnny Cash involved!) and I may go on a murderous rampage if the show is not renewed after such an intricate plotline was cut off. I even had to watch it twice -which I almost never do- to catch it all. I sent Fox an email supporting the show and received a response that read "The show is in contention for a second season". That's something. The CW is currently withholding the greenlight for another season of "Reaper", which is an awesome show that you all need to check out. I think I'll head over that-a-way now.

You know, it's only two episodes in over here right now but I think I might actually enjoy this series a lot. The action and effects are top notch and there's quite a nice little story arc developing.
Consider me a fan.
