Now let's be honest - it doesn't get much more Halloween than Alice fucking Cooper talking about his favourite horror movies. Thank YOU, NME. He says a lot of great things, throws a few (fairly) obscure movies in the mix as well. It's obvious he knows his stuff, and I 100% agree with him (mostly) about "showing the monster." www.nme.com/nme-video/alice-cooper-reveals-his-top-5-horror-films/1250312054001Shamefully, I've only ever seen (whisper it) two of these. Never seen Carnival of Souls, never seen The Haunting(seen the remake, blurgh) and STILL never seen Suspiria. I know, I know. Shoot me. Nice list, though.

Although I agree that Salem's Lot is one of the best vamp flicks, I disagree that Barlow was the scariest vamp. I kind of thought he was the one great error in the original Salem's Lot film/miniseries. Especially that "I'm having a stroke" noise he makes during his big reveal. Suspiria is absolutely a top 10 horror flick at worst. The Haunting didn't really thrill me, but sometimes it takes more than one viewing for a film to show it's awesome. Carnival of Souls is really unique as I remember. Very respectable list from Mr. Cooper indeed. Much better than the usual obvious picks most people will give when you put them on the spot.
