Oh man.. the possibilities. We've all creamed our shorts at the Batman: Arkham games (twice), and with the amount of characters and history DC's other favourite son has, surely Superman could be given a game with as much depth and ingenuity? Well, they tried. And, as seems to be common with ol' Mr Boring and Indestructible, they failed. The article below actually has better material from the discussion after it, so keep reading for pics. But here's a sample from the now cancelled video game. www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=jHc-a3YE9-0Damn. Looks good to me. But then, how much was cut-scene and how much was actual gameplay is debatable. But still.. will we EVER see a good Superman game?

They are planning it right now. DC is hitting up Rocksteady to do with Supes what they did for Bats. Time will tell if it works or not.

Great news. I just... I can't see how it would work. It would have to be a totally different game, or at least a game where you simply can't fucking die. How are goons loaded with machine guns going to be a match, or even a blip on Supe's radar? Unless you go around fighting Kyrptonian-laced super villains the entire game, surely it's going to be the easiest game ever?

Well that's the Superman dilemma, isn't it? Superman: The Animated Series powered him down quite a bit to deal with the problem, and I'm sure a video game could do the same. Having Apokalips invade so that Metropolis is overrun with super-powered foes and/or having Luthor and/or Brainiac arming goons with kryptonite weaponry and putting a bounty on Superman's head would work as well. Or having Lexcorp manufacturing supergoons. Where there's a will, there's a way. The question is: can they make the gameplay fun?
