Nerd alert! A vs X.

Another year begins and Marvel begins to hype another massive crossover event. This time out: The Avengers battle the X-Men. It's been done in the Ultimate Universe already, but with the X-Men movies back on an upswing and the Avengers film ready to rock, the time seems right to make a bigass deal about another hero vs hero situation. The coolest news so far is that there is going to be a separate book released just collecting the battles while the miniseries focuses more on the story aspect (yaaaawwwn). Hard not to get pumped up with these images, though.











Now that shit is badass. Especially love the Rogue/Ms. Marvel grudge match. But seriously, Storm vs. Thor? Does she always draw the short straw in these things or what? It already happened in the Contest of Champions series. Storm hit him with everything she had and Thor smiled at the pleasant-feeling downpour and then kissed her like a boss until she passed out from his awesomeness. Then again, Daredevil battling Archangel seems pretty fucking hopeless as well. He's match up better with someone like Kitty Pryde.

I dig the concept for a series and all, but I'm afraid they're not called Earth's Mightiest Heroes for no reason. Should be a wipeout of Team Cyclops.

Sounds good to me, but yeah, the X-Men seem ridiculously out-matched in this battle. Spidey vs Ice-Man? Yeah, that'd be a stretch after facing Venom and the Sandman. I haven't seen the first time Thor and Storm fought, but that sounds amazing.

The only one I can think of having the advantage in the X team would be Magneto. Couldn't he just rip Iron Man's suit straight off Stark?

Nope. Stark is prepared. I've read he can reverse the polarity of his armor to nullify magnetic effect and has used this to clobber Mags in the past. Iceman has actually been revealed as an omega level mutant with nearly unlimited powers (pretty much every molecule of water vapor is his weapon) and could easily dispose of Spidey if Parker doesn't do some serious thinking. He can literally cover himself in enough ice to make himself giant-sized and nigh-impenetrable while still maintaining a serious offense. Not to mention he can freeze the moisture IN YOUR FUCKING BODY, which would stop anyone and anything. But Spidey is a genius and a veteran underdog who will likely find a way to win as he usually does.

I pick Archangel, Psylocke (due to her psychic abilities), and Colosso-Juggernaut because they are clearly fighting the weak links in the Avenger chain, and Rogue can and has beaten Ms. Marvel, but the X-Men are hobbled after Logan's exodus and simply do not have the firepower to deal with guys like The Hulk, Iron Man, and Thor. I just noticed I forgot to post Frost facing Big Green.



I can't recall how Hulk deals with psychic attacks, but I wouldn't be surprised if he could smash diamond when he got pissed enough.
