Even if it's never reached the giddy heights of Extra's or the sky-scraper heights of the Office, Gervais' new comedy Life's Too Short (starring Warwick Davies... pretty much as David Brent) still has a lot to offer. The following scene received a lot of attention when the episode first aired, and it's classic Gervais stuff. The plot; Warwick is a struggling actor, obsessed with his own fame but desperate for work. Gervais and Merchant play themselves and they're always trying to get rid of him. That's all you need for this; www.youtube.com/watch?v=sqA577_IoBkNice.

Well, I thought he was funnier than The Hangover 2 was.

Yeah, you're not the first person to say that was a bad sequel. A shame, I really quite liked the first movie. What went wrong?

Basically, it had no jokes. It was just a retread of the first film with the guys going from place to place trying to figure out what happened, and it's just not very funny. Wacky, but not funny. Having a monkey in a Rolling Stones vest on hand is zany and all, but it doesn't really make me laugh Same with the Chinese caricature from the first film. The only real laughs I got from it involved a VERY nasty gender bender and a monk hitting people with a stick. So that's about 1 minute of laughter in an hour and 40 minute film. Not a good batting average.

Damn, that is a shame. I wasn't expecting much from the original but found it really funny. Guess I'll be giving this one a miss. Yet another shit sequel. Sigh.

I doubt you'll regret it.
