How times change. A few months ago the only good thing (that I knew of) to hail from Death Valley was this guy; And MTV was a reality show wasteland full of talentless parasites who were considered celebrities by imbeciles. Now, though? Beavis and Butt-Head are back on MTV and haven't lost a step, and Death Valley is kicking all kinds of ass. It hasn't been mentioned on here yet, so I figured it may have slipped past our collective nets (it IS on MTV, after all). Basically, California has been swamped with vampires, werewolves and zombies and a reality cop show has been made, following the UTC (Undead Task Force) as they take down the bad guys. It's surprising to see a "Warning: Blood and Guts" message before a show on MTV, and it's also surprising to see a funny, smart spin on the well-worn "follow the cops with a camera" premise. I'm only into the third episode, so it's still early days but thought I'd give you guys the heads up on this one. It's a black comedy so don't expect Walking Dead levels of angst and realism, nor True Blood's social commentary. But there's plenty of blood, gore, the odd F bomb and a few hotties thrown in for good measure. Here's the trailer; www.youtube.com/watch?v=UQKOYw4vi1Y

Haha love it. It is going to be an ace new step for MTV. I hate Music tv crap these days too. Step, leap and a hop in the right direction

So eMpTV is trying to take a non-musical step in the right direction with real shows, eh? You know, about 20 seconds into it, I suddenly thought "I'll bet anything two girls kiss in this commercial". I am fucking psychic. Was disappointed that the show isn't actually taking place in Death Valley, though. That place is so goddamn desolate and unpleasant, you could actually picture monsters living there. Yeah, I like this concept, but I have a feeling MTV is going to make this show unbearable. But I will give it a shot. Everything else in in the offseason, anyways.
