Sorry, I've just recently played the Army of Darkness game on the iPhone to death (unlocked every single trophy) and those quotes are still buzzing around my head. Anyway, the Evil Dead movies are a fitting subject heading for this TV show, in that it's obviously inspired by that kind of awesome comedy horror. Think Basket Case, Re-Animator.. all those gory, gloopy 80's horror comedies that we wasted our youths to. Todd and the Book of Pure Evil taps into much the same (drained) vain. A show I came across completely by accident that has now turned into one of my favourite shows, it's like Buffy meets Beavis and Butt-Head. Two loser high school stoners come across a book of, well, Pure Evil. It grants wishes but in an evil, distorted way and finds its way into some new victim's hands every week. Add a creepy, evil teacher (who steals the show), some smokin' hot babes, a ginger nerd who may well be hot.. oh, and Jay from Jay and Silent Bob as a janitor. I was going to show you the trailer, but when you have Kevin Smith talking about the show, who needs a trailer? www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZdSLIQ7-AAo"Metal. Demon shit. High school hi-jinks. Pussy talk." What's not to love? Hunt it down.

If Kevin Smith is into it, I'm giving it a try. Where the hell did this show come from? I've never heard of it. It doesn't come up on a search of shows on my cable service or Netflix. Goddamnit, why are you getting this and not me! It's not faaaaiiiir!!!

Hmmm, that's weird. I know it's a Canadian show so that - could - have something to do with it. It's on the Sci-Fi Channel over here, if that helps. Here's the trailer www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z3k8rmlMR5ESo, uh, yeah. Tuesdays at 10pm Central Pacific (whatever that means) on Fear Net (whatever that is).

Damn. I don't have Fear Net (which is an On-Demand horror movie station) on my current cable service. No wonder I hadn't heard a thing about it. Also, the only Canadian show to make it over here is Lost Girl (which is pretty sweet), and that was a year late.

Oh, is Lost Girl good? I gave it an episode and canned it. I thought it looked pretty shit.
As for Todd, our Sci-Fi Channel seem to be embracing it's cult nature, with the "and coming up next on Sci Fi" voice over guy reading out fan's comments and Tweets before the show and during the commercial break. Still haven't found anyone who's seen it, though.
Well, now you know, Trash. Keep an eye out for it.

I enjoy Lost Girl very much. The characters are cool, it's got both a nice monster-of-the-week format and a larger plot at work, and an interesting mythology. And, if nothing else, it's probably the sexiest science fiction/fantasy show in a long time. That will do, milady.
