So, yaaaaaay, Guns & Roses are back touring again!
But, boooooo, Axl Rose is still a complete and total prick.
Guns & Roses are touring the UK stadiums this month, and much has been made of what is now trademark Axl Rose behaviour. Namely - he's a fucking asshole who doesn't deserve an inch of the support he has.
Where to begin? Well, one show started 55 minutes late. The next show? 90 minutes late. The show after that? Over two HOURS. Now imagine you paid the (large) entrance fee to see this show. This is stadium gigs we're talking about here, so we're not talking about £10 tickets or anything. What if you have to get the last train home? If GnR played on time, you'd have seen the show and still got the train home. If you have to get the last train home you have to leave about thirty minutes into their set when they eventually stumble onto the stage. In today's economy? To see a band who haven't been remotely relevant for 15 years? Yeah. Fuck that noise.
Anyway, time keeping is one thing. How about Axl having to constantly leave the stage to go plug into an oxygen mask? Or how about threatening to walk off early if anyone threw cups onto the stage? Or how about having the security staff BAN anyone from wearing t-shirts of Slash? One guy had to walk around with no shirt on because security were told to remove any sign of Slash merchandise or ban fans from entering the arena with them on.
You know, I've never been a Guns & Roses fan, and thank Christ for that, because if had paid money to witness THIS bullshit, it would pretty much put me off going to see any other band for life. Fuck these clowns.
