Is, for some reason, with Radiohead. They're a symbol of the current trend of "valuation." Nope, I have no idea what he's going about either. He also accuses them of being pompous. Billy Corgan. Calling someone pompous. This actually happened. www.nme.com/news/smashing-pumpkins/64278Now, y'll know I'm a big ol' Pumpkins fan (more than a Radiohead fan, actually), but.. I have no idea what he's going about here. Anyone care to translate this for me?

In other news: Joe Satriani has been discovered to be a better guitar player than Kurt Cobain. Christ, Corgan. This is what it means to get old. From what I gather, basically Corgan is mad that music has evolved from when he was a kid. It seems in his mind all the young kids are listening to progressive 90's alternative music like Radiohead instead of 60's and 70's dino-rock like Deep Purple and Rainbow and he's shaking his fist at these kids from his porch as they stray onto his lawn during their play. I don't recall anyone saying Radiohead was more valuable than Deep Purple, but I can see him clearly saying Blackmore is more valuable right before doubling back and saying that what he's really attacking is people saying one thing is more valuable than another. So basically, this interview is Billy Corgan arguing with himself over imaginary bullshit. Each individual person has the right to value each and every artist or work of art as he sees fit. I value Smashing Pumpkins more than I do Rebecca Black, for example. Would that piss him off? God, what a douche.

The thought of Billy Corgan chasing kids off his lawn is hilarious. They'd think fucking Uncle Fester had escaped from the Addams house.
There's a full 3 page interview in this week's NME that I've not read yet. It starts with a caption like "NME visits the insane world of Billy Corgan" and there's a piece saying "James Iha is a fucking piece of shit" so it should be a good read, at least.
Maybe the article from the NME website is poorly written or something, because it really does look like Corgan is contradicting himself in the same fucking sentence. Hey, I love the Pumpkins, I really do, and I also like the fact Corgan is an outspoken loon but.. yeah, I have no idea what is going on here.
He does hate Courtney Love, though. At least you and him could agree on that one, Trash. ("Have your moment. Burn up in the sun that laughs at you as equally as it appears to celebrate you and sleep knowing you have no honour.")
Ouch.

Yeah, but he fucked her and wrote an album for her. Eeeeewwwwww. Corgan needs to shut the fuck up. Out of all the "artists" out there ruining music to trash, he comes up with Radiohead? I mean, I'm not really a Radiohead fan, but I respect them as a pretty unique band that has had a lot more success than they have received radio airplay, and that speaks for itself. I like a lot of Pumpkins stuff, but I think I've spoken out on what I think of Corgan making records under the name Smashing Pumpkins with no other original members when he could be pushing artistic boundaries with a solo project or joining up with other musicians to form new creative partnerships. And then he has the audacity to criticize everybody else? Glass goddamn houses, man.
