So what would you do if I said I had a religiously-influenced track from a Jewish rasta beatboxer that seemlessly combines reggae, hip-hop, alternative rock, and electronic beats into one killer song? No. I will not go fuck myself, thank you very much. Matisyahu is the real motherfucking deal. The man floats effortlessly between rap, reggae, rock, and all sorts of other musical styles with messages of peace, tolerance, spirituality, overcoming adversity, and the like and he dos it with massive amounts of style.
I could have gone with Matisyahu's best-known and most inspirational song "One Day", which is so beautiful it brings tears to my eyes, but I decided to go with something less sappy and more musically challenging so from 2009's "Light" album, this is "For You", the song U2 wish they'd written.

I'm surprised this guy isn't more popular because this is the sort of song I could imagine getting played to death on radio.
Nice song, it sounds like something that would burrow into my conscience after a few listens and I would end up loving it. Even if the intro sounds like something from a video game.
Damn, Trash, you continue to surprise me. I would NEVER have picked you listening to this sort of thing. Respect.

He mostly plays different variations of reggae, but this guy does mix things up quite a bit and seeing that I know you aren't a fan of that genre I fingered this one as a track that may interest you. I had just gotten back from a two day fishing trip and listened to his best of album multiple times consecutively (which is something I very seldom do with any album) on the way up and when I got back and sat down to come up with something to post for this week all I could think about was Matisyahu. Very talented dude. Also, his guitarist is pretty badass.

Yeah, ignorant as it sounds, reggae almost always has me reaching for the off button. Good decision!
I just cannot picture you fishing, man. I did NOT see that being your thing at all. Again - after all this time, continuing to surprise me!

Well, my dad has a boat and fishing is pretty much all he does. I used to go with him all the damn time, but since my son was born and the California coast has been having......ecological difficulties regarding the fish population, I've been skipping out. But now that my son is old enough to come along I don't really have much of a reason to say no. I don't even eat fish, but I fucking love the ocean so just being out there for awhile is fun to me.
