We celebrated a 40th Anniversary of Bowie's groundbreaking Ziggy Stardust record a few weeks ago, and today marks 50 years of a band who pretty much changed music forever, a band who are STILL going today. Oh, you already know who it is; Yeah, I have no idea who they are. I actually meant; There's the chaps. People mock their age, the fact Jagger is now a Sir (not exactly rock & roll, that). They've lost a few members through the years but fuck it - it's Mick Jagger and Keith Richards. Get on your fucking knees and bow. The songs are benchmarks. The musicians are legends. They will forever inspire young guys picking up guitars. Now and forever, the Rolling Stones ARE rock n roll. Happy birthday, guys.

Indeed. And even now, they still sound pretty damn good while their contemporaries in Zep and The Who sound like shit. All fucking hail.

I haven't seen or heard them, but I remember reading (and indeed being told) that Led Zep's recent UK concerts were superb. Was that just fan-boy gushing? And I haven't heard the Who lately either. Bad?

Daltrey has sounded like shit for years.
And this:
ain't comparing to this:
Saw Page jamming the same song with the Foos on a concert special and goddamn the old grey mare, she just ain't what she used to be.
