As well as having the coolest tattoo of pretty much any musician (Space Invader on the neck! Win!), Deadmau5 has been making a bit of a name for himself as some sort of online moral crusader. His well publicised spat with Madonna over her use of drug references was discussed here, and he's also had a pop at some Playboy Bunny for her tasteless (and crap) joke about the Colorado shootings. www.nme.com/news/deadmau5--2/65092If that wasn't enough, he's also taken a bit of a stand against, well, dance music. Y'know, the genre he's involved in. And every word he says is true. www.nme.com/news/deadmau5--2/62726Deadmau5 the music? Not my bag at all. Deadmau5 the person? Absolutely my bag.

Why was he following a goddamn nude model on Twitter to begin with? Did he really think she would have something transcendent to say? And the tweet wasn't funny. Funny would be saying that the movie had more plot holes than the audience. If you're going to joke about a tragedy, at least make it funny. I'm a huge fan of gallows humor so I find the liberal politically correct shit to be this in a nutshell: Some people deal with trauma by laughing. Get over it. White knighting on behalf of the victims is not going to sooth their loved ones or bring them back to life. People die all of the time for all kinds of reasons, most of which will be joked about at some time in some place. Deal with that fact. The only harm it does to anyone in in your own mind...that is called "imaginary". So let us focus on real life and not our own psychological hang-ups, yes? And yeah, that second article was the shit. I'm not a fan of electronic music as a general rule (although there are some songs and artists I enjoy on occasion), but Deadmau5 seems pretty cool to me.
