I won't lie, the third Paranormal Activity didn't really do it for me. A decent film that was scary in places, it just lacked the shock factor of the first two (understandable, there's only so many times lights can wobble and people can get thrown around a room). It also suffered the killing blow of any "realistic" horror film - it all got a little bit silly at the end. As a result, I concluded the best horror franchise is STILL Psycho. But, onwards and upwards, and while these cheap to make movies keep making a gazillion dollars each, they are going to keep on coming. Here's the trailer for episode 4.. www.youtube.com/watch?v=35cYvwjEvUIHmmm. A whole NEW family who just happen to record every word and every minute of sleep? That the Spooky Kids just happened to move next door to? I get the feeling the PA crew have written themselves into a corner with this "camcorder" stuff, and it now means even more laborious and tenuous reasons to be recording for no fucking reason. I dunno. I'll still see it, but it's no longer the OMG Must See franchise it once was.

Wow, that was good. I wasn't sure I wanted a fourth, but that trailer sold me. The girl is cute as hell and I think the webcam thing is more logical than the other excuses they've had for why these people never stop filming. Also, I kind of liked the Rosemary's Baby-esque ending of 3. I'll be there.

Well the end of the third one left me a bit unfulfilled but I did enjoy the film as it was my kind of jumpy. It's certainly what I would usually cash as shit. I loved the first two for the record. The third left me a little deflated. I found it predictable. Horror is unpredictableness (sure that's a word right?) in my eyes. I really hope that THIS can salvage the remains of my tattered hopes. I await a scare. Good trailer man.

Yeah, it's true that by the third time around the formula was a bit predictable, but considering the cut and paste bullshit we put up with from slasher flicks, I'm willing to give PA some slack because I feel they have kept it somewhat creative with devices like that oscillating kitchen cam. That was cool beans.
