... to Greenday. So there's some music festival and you've been given a set time to play. Half way through your set, though, your set is cut early to make more time for fucking USHER. What do you do? You do this. www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=g9zogQOmQVMHoly shit, that may be the best thing Green Day have done since Dookie.

American Idiot was pretty bomb. I'm disappointed that they actually complied and left the stage. I would have kept playing or at least ranted until they pulled the plug and sent security to escort me off the stage while the crowd spewed forth all hate upon them and hopefully that lipsyncing male stripper that was following them. Word to the wise, Mr. Armstrong: if you want to put on a punk show don't play mainstream music festivals with pop stars and you won't have to worry about this kind of shit.

I was a big fan of Green Day for a few years. I've got, like, four albums and a handful of singles but I lost interest in them long before American Idiot. As douchy as it sounds, the bandwagon jumping of everyone who suddenly "OMG LUV GreenDay" didn't make me want to revisit them anytime soon. Great band, all the same. Anyway, seems we were all a bit too quick to jump to Green Day's defense. Their set wasn't cut short, it had nothing to do with Usher but it had everything to do wiiiiith.... www.nme.com/news/green-day/66275Sigh.

Not only that, but it says he's scheduled to appear as a "mentor" on American Idol clone "The Voice". Really? So BJ is going to give singing tips? REALLY? Or is he going to teach someone how to play one-chord guitar? Jesus fuck, how stupid. Screw this attention-seeking fool. Toss him on the has-been pile with Steven Tyler.

Brilliant. I love a good meltdown.
Still. Who cares that he has gone into rehab....So is that not what all "Popstars" do these days. People never used to care about a substance problem back in days of Yore. Yeah that's right I said days of yore.
Or in fact in days of olde.
People need to get a grip. Sometimes a good old drug problem helps with the writing process.
Prime example. King Of Leon. They were really good when they were high then they dried out and wrote Only By The Night and thus-forth were totally shit.

It's funny, but I didn't even give a thought to his "problem". Drug abuse is so standard with celebs that it never really phases me until some dope like Winehouse/Nowell/Cobain/Hendrix/Bonham/etc./etc. kills themselves with it at their creative peak. That shit just pisses me off.
