IT'S BACK! Woop! Mrs C's Music Review Club Week 1!

It has been a while. So I am back with some quality Choonage (TM) to brighten up your wintery days.


First up something a bit cheery and summery in my opinion.

This is Animal by Swedish Pop band Miike Snow.

The reason I have picked this is not the original that i have put above. Beautiful as it is but the remix by one of my favorite Producers; Fake Blood.

As you can see the extra production has really lifted the track and given it another dimension. This people is in my opinion is what a good well put together remix sounds like and should not be confused with anything remixed by Freemasons, William Orbit or any other lazy fucking pretenders who claim to be Producers.

As with most of my reviews. If you like the sound of this band then another good song is one of their recent tracks The Wave.

So it that pronounced as "Mike" or mee-kay like director Takashi Miike? Not really my cup of tea, this guy. It doesn't rape my wars or anything, but his music sounds like something he programmed on his PC whereas I'm more of a live instrument feel kind of guy. songs aren't terrible, though.

Think it is pronounce 'Mike' Fair enough I suppose it does sound a bit bleepy and bloopy but then I do enjoy that sort of sound

Compared to some of the joyless, awful 10 minute dance horrors you have on your iPod, Mrs C, this isn't half bad. Yeah, the original sounds like something he made in his bedroom, but that's probably the intent.

The remix is a rare beast, one that adds a completely different depth to the track. I wouldn't say improve on it, because the original is pretty charming (and it does grow on you after a few listens).

Trashy may have given you the thumbs down, but this gets my vote. Doesn't rock my world, but not half bad.

Psht, you're just saying that to get laid. Nah, don't feel the need to cram guitars in unless YOU feel like it, Lady C. I've heard plenty of guitar rock and although it's my personal preference, I'm always up for something different even if it's not my favorite. I think your last run was what introduced me to Dels, whose album has gotten A LOT of play from me this year and there's not a guitar to be heard on that one. So by all means, hit me with some more quality electronic stuff. Worst case scenario, I give it a "meh" and move along. But if I dig it, it could open up something fresh and new for me and worth a few misses to get that homerun (too American?).

Well you know me, I have liked Miike Snow since you told me to check him up before T this year. Good choice, it keeps me interested and I want to hear more so that's always a good thing. Good lyrics and it probably will be in my head for a few days.
