After Trashy's showcase of how hip-hop should be with those Immortal Technique, I thought I'd continue the examination of intelligent rap lyrics with the help of Chris Leavins. Now, you may not know who that is, so let me explain. Before stealing the show every damn week as the villainous guidance counsellar in the (sadly cancelled) Todd and the Book of Pure Evil, Chris created a bit of a cult following with weekly Youtube videos titled "Cute With Chris," a series in which Chris would show pictures of viewers pets and ask you to vote on who was the cutest. What sounds like a lame, 10 year old girl's blog was actually some of the funniest stuff I'd ever seen on the internet. Anyway, back to the hip-hop. Here, Chris performs the T-Pain hit, "Buy You A Drank." You love it already. www.youtube.com/watch?v=rTK0kFXJjd0

"I got money in the bank, what you think about that?" Jesus fuck, that is some weak game, my man. Is that kid of shit all it takes for a guy to get laid these days? Forget artistry and poetry of the street and all that stuff, I'm just saying: is it actually possible to use words like these to impress a woman? If so, I've been doing it way wrong. And if not, why do people even allow crap like that to exist, much less flourish on popular radio?
