Just got back from the midnight screening of The Hobbit and my jaw was dropped even before the movie started. Watch this in fullscreen now. Talk later. www.youtube.com/watch?v=K-ZcqwvQbasAt first I was like and then I was like Allow me to let you take a trip into my exact thoughts as this trailer unfolded before me. Is this Godzilla? It's fucking Godzilla isn't it? No. Not Godzilla. Holy fuck this is awesome. Is this.......Evangelion? No. Fucking. Way. I'd have heard. Guillermo del Toro? I LOVE Guillermo del Toro! Shit WHAT IS THIS!? Awesome! It's like a Japanese movie....in America! God, it's like Evangelion! I LOVE Evangelion! Fuck me for thinking this couldn't be done. Holy shit where did this come from? Why wasn't I told? God, if you are up there LET ME SEE THIS FILM NOW!So, is anyone else willing to shed the blood of the innocent to see this, or what?

This is the movie I'm looking forward to the most next year. Giant robots vs. giant monsters, directed by Guillermo del Toro?

OK, how did this one slip past us to get to a full trailer without us knowing anything about it? A giant monster movie from Guillermo Del Toro?? Am I dreaming?
It looks great. The "pounding fist" thing is a good indication that its not going to try and take itself too seriously, but hopefully it doesn't turn into another Transformers.
God damn, I would have creamed my pants if I'd heard the Godzilla roar at the end there, though..

Sheeee-it. This was definitely proof that it's nice to still be surprised sometimes. I was giddy as hell when that thing hit the screen. I have a feeling it's going to take a beating when it gets released because, like Sucker Punch, it looks like this one is aimed for those of us who grew up as part of this culture and really get what it's about. The rest of the internet "geeks" who hitched themselves to the bandwagon around the time that all the big blockbusters started coming from comic books are more likely than not going to hate this. As far as it being another Bayformers, I'd like to present evidence to conclusively dismiss that as a possibility: A Japanese-style kaiju vs. mecha film directed by del Toro that has nods to Neon Genesis Evangelion all over the trailer. This is now a thing. Somebody is watching out for us.
