12 days in and 2013 already has two highlights. The first occurred this week in WWE, where a bit of a wardrobe malfunction occurred to AJ Lee, who's top rode up without her knowing as she seductively licked herself after biting someone on the face. Me gusta indeed. Another was the news that, after a ten year absence from not only music itself but also any major form of spotlight or media attention, a certain artist had come back with a new record. And the first single was released on Monday at 9am and was already number one by 3pm that DAY. The artist in question? Oh, just this guy; So, yes, David Bowie is BACK and arguably bigger than he's been in the last 20 years. It kinda says a lot about his fan base (internet savvy) that his surprise release single gets straight to number one on the same day on the strength of downloads alone. Well, it WOULD have been number one, obliterating the likes of Rihanna and that heartbreaking, fucking awful duet between Britney and Will.I.Am (why, Britney, WHYYY?) if some ruling didn't prevent it from doing so. Never mind, the actual album will no doubt be number one as well. Not bad going for a 66 year old. Take a listen to the track in question, "Where Are We Now". I didn't care for it at all when I first heard it, but it is genuinely one of those songs that gets better on second and third listens. I love it now. www.youtube.com/watch?v=QWtsV50_-p4Welcome back, David.

I'd heard that they were going to allow Bowie to chart after all in spite of the offered incentive. And I don't see why not. Is it really so horrible to have something like this on the top of the charts for a little while before all the drek takes over again? And yeah, the song is great.
