I find it remarkably hypocritical that Morrissey would attempt to use a pic of himself with Bowie to promote his career considering the things he's said about him. Double that up with the fact that Bowie is a genuine genius and I have never in my life been able to stomach Morrissey's pretentious sniveling and it's pretty obvious whose side I'm on. Anyone got any insight or opinions on this little feud?

Hmmm, interesting. I'd genuinely never heard of any bad blood between the two, but it says a lot that Bowie hasn't even responded to any of these comments, and pretty high profile interviews they were as well. That "I could tell you stories" line is bullshit, though. Either fucking tell us or don't, rise above that schoolyard nonsense.
Morrissey isn't a stranger to a bit of controversy though, and even his most passionate fans find themselves shaking their heads in bafflement at him. He's a clever guy, but he really does say some stupid stuff sometimes.
I mean, when has Bowie EVER given his fans "what he thinks they want"? If that were the case he'd still be wearing lightning bolt make up and singing about Ziggy Stardust.
That's actually the first negative thing I've ever seen about David Bowie. I can't think of anyone else who had a problem or a grudge against him.
So if I'm picking sides here? Yeah, Bowie. Easily. I like Morrissey and all, but he's got a history of being a dick.

I don't like the "I could tell you stories" line either. If he was holding back out of respect or whatever he'd not have said anything in the first place, so implying that he has witnessed Bowie doing whatever he is even implying Bowie does and then getting all vague about it is just annoying.

Well, I think when you're on record as regarding the Chinese as a "sub-species", a slight against Bowie is probably not going to cause much offence. Sigh. That's our Mozza.  Sadly, not a real news article, but a classic piece from satirical British bible The Viz. You know, through all this Morrissey bashing, I think its only fair as to demonstrate just WHY he has such an adoring fanbase who turn a blind eye to this sort of stuff. Fault the man, yes. Funny thing is that when another artist covers The Smiths, I enjoy it. But when Morrissey sings those songs, they piss me off. Go figure. That article is pretty much my exact reaction to the guy.
