With all this talk on the board this week about Dave Grohl, I thought it was only fitting we turn to not the man himself, but a band who clearly grew up listening to the Foo Fighters, as well as that other band, y'know, the one with the swimming baby album. It's these shining toothed young gentlemen from the UK, the awesomely titled Dinosaur Pile-Up. They may be in debt to grunge, but these are no navel gazing doom-mongers. One of their earlier EP makes reference to listening to the Presidents of the USA and, oh yeah, it's called "The Most Powerful EP in the Universe!" Can't argue with that. This track is actually from their debut full length album, and even though NME said they "could give two shits about sounding even remotely modern" (in a still praising review).. man, some things just don't go out of style. www.youtube.com/watch?v=hGxr43tlfCM
