A few weeks ago I created a thread dedicated to alternative/rock bands and artists who could jump from the good ship rock to a more poppy, accessible sound and it didn't sound forced, jarring or lame. I didn't mention this band in that thread when I really should have. Well, it's their time to shine now. So there are two tracks today to showcase that versatile gift; the first is a Pixies inspired rock track, all weird sounding guitar wails and Matthew Shultz's trademark yelp. The second is pure pop, and one of my favourite songs at the moment. The band? Cage the Elephant. The songs? Rock first, Aberdeen. Fun fact; There's a video on Youtube that features Dave Grohl. That guy just gets everywhere, doesn't he? www.youtube.com/watch?v=bZBmcSBoRAEAnd time for pop (weirdly, not a single, so no real video) - with Right Before My Eyes. Man. Dat chorus. www.youtube.com/watch?v=gi62DDQ03MI

Wow, what a great damn video. That pretty much re-enacted my entire social life in a mere 3 minutes. Am I the only one who mentally called that monster Gamerizard? Great band.

Yeah, figured you'd like that video. I always route for the monsters in those movies, and this time I actually have an excuse. Poor Gamerizard.
