I try not to build myself up for disappointment with a lot of things anymore, certainly not TV shows based on comic books, because they usually tend to, well, suck. But then I started hearing nothing but good things about the DC Comic's vehicle, Arrow. So, foolish young hopeful that I am, I got all geared up for loving it.
And man, do I ever not. The characters are all bland and boring, the plot and storylines are fucking ridiculous and they seemed to have blown huge events that we might actually have given a shit about after four episodes. (No spoilers, in case anyone hasn't seen it yet and still wants to).
So am I missing something? Does it get better? Or were people REALLY creaming over the first four painfully average episodes?

Yeah, I really enjoy Arrow. One of my favorite shows of the year, actually. I like that Oliver Queen is kind of the privileged brat who gets a reality check and tries to make up for it by being a modern Robin Hood while still pretending to be a douche, I like his family dynamic a lot (don't care for the bodyguard much, though), I LOVE that there are DC characters all up and down the storyline, I am literally in love the sexy/nerdy support girl, I think the action scenes are the most kickass of any show on the air at the moment, I like that they don't have a guy going around shooting people with arrows with nobody ever dying, I think it's an inspired concept to filter in bits and pieces of the origin story using current events as the episode centerpieces over the course of the season; I pretty much just like the show all around. Sorry you didn't get anything out of it, C.
