I'll make a confession here; I had sat down to write this and did a quick Youtube search for the song in question, only to discover that it was a cover version. And I was SO disappointed, because it's SO heartfelt and gorgeous that I really couldn't imagine it belonging to anyone else.. but yep, there's a video with Nancy Sinatra singing it. So it MUST be a cover. Except.. it's not. The version I'm playing IS the original, only written and recorded in 2006, but it already sounds SO classic, like it was culled from some amazing 60's band, that Nancy Sinatra covered it for her latest record. OK, introductions (or re-introductions, as it were). When we first covered celebrated British pop royalty Jarvis Cocker, this was the song.. www.youtube.com/watch?v=xRGGbyZzuTgAnd? Trashcanman's Original Response, Sept 24, 2011: "Fucking perfect comes to mind." A hit, then. Far out. Well, instead of following on in that "fuck the system" kind of approach, this song, Baby's Coming Back to Me, finds Jarvis at his most hopeless optimistic and romantic. And it's beautifully sad. But mostly beautiful. No real video (wasn't a single) but enjoy anyway. www.youtube.com/watch?v=UniTaGyD9hM

Does he always rock those hipster glasses? Oh, and yeah, song sounds pretty classic all right. I'm digging a lot of the vintage 60's-era nostalgia that a lot of indie rock groups and real deal singers are integrating into their stuff.
