So there's this site cleverbot.com/ that has an AI that will converse with you. I figured "why not". The following man/machine interaction ensued. Beware of desu spam war.

It was like conversing with a mental deficient. I don't think we have to worry about Skynet killing us all just yet. Either that, or CB is just playing stupid while laughing at our false sense of superiority. Anyway, give it a shot if you've some time to kill. Yeah, I didn't get much to bother putting on here. The best I could get was when it told me he (she?) was Amelia Pond, the character from Dr Who.



If only.

You can tell how the engine works, just pulling random words and responding to them even if they make little or no sense, it's more luck than anything else if you can get something that actually works as a conversation.

Telling you, though.. think how technology works. It's said there was less equipment that sent Neil Armstrong to the Moon than is found in a smartphone. Imagine this bot device in 30 years time. Skynet may not be that far fetched.

I found the only way to get interesting comments was to assume a threatening manner and argue a lot. Some pretty funny stuff, but I'm surprised that somebody bothered to put this online given how fucking unimpressive it is as a conversationalist.
