I'm actually a big fan of HBO's Girls. And of course anytime anyone is a fan of anything, that thing will be made into a porno of some sorts. But in this case, the show's star/creator got wind of the project and took to Twitter to bitch about it, pulling her outdated feminist card out. And I do believe she just go put in her place. www.theatlanticwire.com/entertainment/2013/05/girls-parody-porn-stars/65707/I just heard KRS-ONE's voice in my head saying "right up to your face and DISS YOU!" I'm not a big fan or supporter of the porn industry, but I respect the rights of all involved as people providing a service to those who do dig that type of thing. If a woman chooses to make that her career, then if anything it's anti-feminist to tell her she isn't free to do what she wished with her body on or off camera. I'm not crazy about the parody thing either, but so long as they stay within the limits of the law, there's nothing to be done aside from impotent whining. Sorry, Lena. I love me some Girls, but I think you are somehow intellectually outgunned here, as shocking as that seems.

I've seen (and loved) the first season of Girls but I haven't seen the Q-Tip episode the director talks about here. Can't wait to see it now.
As for porn, there is a LOT of things wrong with it. Anything degrading, violent or mysogynistic I have no time for at all. There's a difference between a woman doing what she wants with her body and some scared, naive just turned 18 year old being bullied, insulted and abused on camera. I read an article once about the assholes behind the "Bang Bus" series, and it showed the porn industry (particularly the amateur stuff) as the wretched industry it really is.
That being said, the more professional stuff and films that keep the girls happy and healthy is fine with me. There will be people that will be offended and "grossed out" by the language, themes and nudity shown in Girls every week, just like there are people offended by porn. Basically, they're not breaking the law and they're not hurting anybody. If you don't like it, don't watch it. Over-ruled, Dunham.

Like I said, I'm not a fan of the "industry" of porn, but I've got no problem with porn itself so long as everyone involved is okay with it. I imagine a lot of the dudes who run these things are vile pieces of shit, but it's really up to the women to realize that they have all the real power since they've got the "goods". They need to organize to put these fuckers out of business and go into it for themselves. I see no real reason why men should be running porn at all when it's the ladies everyone wants to see.
