Gentlemen; The Strypes.

There comes a time when you hear about a band, and all of a sudden they're everywhere, and you can't remember having heard of them before. Example; I can't remember going "oh, who's this Oasis everyone's talking about? The Rolling Who's? Kurt Cobana?" You get the drill. They become huge and you don't remember when.

But this time it's different, I'm going to break the news to you TODAY and it's going to be on here as proof forever (unless Proboards wipe my account in the future because of shenanigans, it's almost happened twice before). Because ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, The Next Big British Band, already making all kinds of waves on the cool kid indie scene, are here.

They all look about 12 years old, but they make music that would suggest they're time travellers from the early 60's. Every hallmark of British music seems to be ingrained into them; the Beatles, the Stones, the Kinks.. it's all here.

They're the Strypes. I saw them at T in the Park at the "T Break" (read: new music) tent, which normally gets modest crowds and this was actually closed off because it filled up, and they are going to be huge. You heard it here first.



So what do we think? Treading very familiar waters? Heard it all before? Or a refreshing blast of fresh air?

Hey C, I saw these at Evo and they were my big band of the year too! SNAP! These guys are awesome and I hope to hear big things from them. They just embody a lot of sounds that I respect and love, what's not to like. Good post. Have you heard Hometown Girls yet?

Well, yeah they sound like all of the other "The" retro bands out there, but that doesn't mean the music isn't great.
