Well, we took a trip to Rand McNally last week, where people wear hats on their feet, hamburgers eat people and Trashcanman likes and buys dubstep records. Who knows what craziness we'll uncover this week? Taking a trip back a few years, when quirky guitar based pop actually made sizable hits in the charts. Back in 2007, "quirky guitar based pop" pretty much meant The Hoosiers. These dorks, in other words. I should actually have chosen this a few months ago to try and remain slightly topical, when the world lost one of the most important figures in the history of cinema; Mr Ray Harryhausen. You don't get many songs dedicated to Ray, and you certainly don't get many music videos showing a young Harryhausen creating a monster and it coming to life and wrecking shit. Take note, Rihanna. Anyway, the band themselves have vanished from the face of the earth, and this video presents them as instantly punchable, but it's a fun song with a big heart. Take a look see and choose their fate.

Not guilty! I remember this song fondly, and I like it a lot.

ahhh the Hoosiers. I remember them. I originally downloaded a free track from itunes called "worst case scenario" and thought it was half decent. www.youtube.com/watch?v=KzrwZpEMCkcThey followed it with Worried about Ray and they went massive in the UK both album and follow up single goodbye mr a did well. By then I had fell out of love with them since as Curmy said They are pretty punchable. They remind me a bit of the wombats (see my your verdict series for lets dance to joy division) who i got into around the same time. Difference being The Wombats are pretty good and I have seen them live a couple of times and would again. The Hoosiers were every arsehole "dido fans" favourtie band for about half an hour. Cool video for worried about ray though. Funny their second album didnt do so well.....did they have one?

"Remember me and you and you and me/no matter how you toss the dice it has to be". Man I hate it when singers use that melody at the beginning a a verse. Still, awesome video and aside from that bit of trite melodic plagiarism the song ain't bad.

I think the use of the phrase "my tippy toes" is a worse crime. Further in their defence though, their follow up single (also a huge hit) was called "Goodbye Mr A", a reference to a cult comic book character created by Jack Kirby. They may be annoying at times, but they're part of our gang for sure.

A couple of shrugs and a couple of thumbs up? It's enough to let them walk.
