"by playing a superhero in Daredevil, I have inoculated myself from ever playing another superhero... Wearing a costume was a source of humiliation for me and something I wouldn't want to do again."Discuss.

Actually, I'm not bothered by this. There was LOADS of fuss over Michael Keaton back when Tim Burton cast him, yet he's probably looked back upon more fondly than the others...and with good reason. All others who have played Batman either have been too plain (Lewis Wilson), too comically plain (Adam West), too bored and plain (Val Kilmer) too tortured yet bizarrely plain (Christian Bale)or just too oddly, comically and smugly plain (George Clooney). Keaton, especially over time, gave a performance that when compared with the rest has the right kind of psychotic edge the others completely lack.

Wo... WOLFMAN? THE Invisible Wolfman? Back in the Fortress?? Well, that's awesome. Welcome back, sir.
I dunno, I just cannot picture him in the Batman costume. I think that's when it's going to fall flat. Of course he can play the suave businessman/playboy type.. I can't see him as Bats, though. Just can't do it.

Keaton wasn't renowned as one of the worst actors on the planet, though. He was definitely an odd choice because he was known for comedic roles, but Affleck not only has a storied career of incompetent acting, but he has played a superhero similar to Batman and brought to entire movie down in the past. Did Hayden Christenson and Nic Cage turn the role down or what?

I was busy pulling my hair out at work yesterday over this precise debate.
A girl at my work announced that Dark Knight Rises is the best film of all time. She also could not decide between Christian Bale or Tony Stark as he ideal man. Yeah you heard right. I said Tony stark. Not RDJ. She does not like RDJ unless he is playing Tony Stark.
To which I proceeded to advise her is pretty much Robert Downey Jnr anyway as he plays the same character in all his recent films.
A heated debate ensued as to why the new Batman films were good but can not really be compared to the original trilogy on the basis that the Dark Knight films, being based on a graphic novel are supposed to be alot darker and the original trilogy did not really have much to go except adam west, which lets be honest people is not exactly going to be taken seriously by film go-ers these days. Awesome though.
I then had to fend off people stating that Ledger was the best Batman villain and bale being better than Keaton. Which may be the case in terms of Batman but I had to put the foot down at the Ledger remark. Yes he was excellent and worthy of praise for his role as the joker but if he was still alive would people still be as over the top excited by it? I don't think so. Anyway I just glared and uttered the words Jack Nicholson and that ended that argument.....
I work with complete dickheads.

I think there's a legit argument to made for Legder's Joker as the besttBat-villain on film. It was an amazing performance. Would the mainstream have appreciated it half as much (or even have gone to see the film) had he lived? I'm saying no. Batman Begins grossed $206,852,432. $534,858,444 for the Dark Knight. That's more than double the attendance based primarily on media hype about a dead actor most people knew as that gay cowboy.
