Ok so I am going to go back to the soppy.... Everyone loves a quality love song. This was one of my absolute favs growing up and like every other teenage girl in the country was completely, truly, madly & deeply (excuse the pun) in love with the man singing it. (well only for about 5 mins which is precisely how long this bands career lasted). I have also picked the Gayest most 90s picture of him ever! This is Truly, Madly, Deeply by Savage Garden www.youtube.com/watch?v=WQnAxOQxQIU

I won't lie, I legit Lol'd at that. Come on, Mrs C. I know this is Pop Nightmares and everything you're going for, but Jeez. You really expect a VOTE on this one to turn out positive? Never. Gonna. Happen. This is one of those songs that I know every word of, and yet I would never willingly sit and listen to it or play it, but through a billion radio and MTV plays I know every single fucking word of it. How is that fair? I like pop songs, I don't mind love songs, but man this is sappy.

Avril may be a lot of things, Quillguy, but "punk" sure ain't one of them.

Couldn't agree more. I remember the term I used at the time, note I have since seen light, was "pop-punk". *shudders* anyway... Savage Garden, Savagely Bore-some.

for the record. "POP-PUNK" doe not really exist. In fact it is pretty much an oxy-moron

Musically, punk has always utilized pop hooks so it makes sense when describing the sound of a Blink 182 as opposed to a Bad Brains or TSOL, but in terms of culture it's definitely an oxymoron. If it's all that popular, it's not all that punk because punk is designed to offend the masses.
