Awesome news. Hopefully as its Netflix we might get some more adult material for the likes of Cage and DD. Really great idea.
I was actually going to make a seperate thread today about this, but what the hell. It can only be an improvement on the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D TV show, which after a promising first episode has quickly lost its appeal to me. Coulson just isn't that interesting a character to be the "asshole with talent" figure that seemingly every TV show needs to have these days (Mentalist, House, Lie To Me, Sherlock etc etc), and the other characters (plucky computer hacker, Buff McSquarejaw, kooky lab geeks) just don't make me care.
I'm still gonna watch it, but I am not enjoying it at all.

I'm giving it time. Whedon is absolutely not hands-on enough at this point though. He has been a slow starter in the past, but he seems to have pretty much handed the reigns over to his brother and buddies so I'm kind of concerned that he's rubber stamping this like he started doing with the Buffy comics when they took a massive dip in quality. He's the best writer in the business and he needs to be doing a lot of the writing if he wants his concept to live up to its potential. I like Agents of SHIELD, but it is certainly not exceptional TV right now. It's an average show with some really good moments and a lot of potential at this point.
