Okay, so you've got two stages. Each stage gets 10 acts. The second stage is for smaller personal favorite acts and the main stage is for your all-time greats. Any band or artist that ever existed is eligible in their best possible line-up and in their prime because this is your dream. Artists should be listed in order of preference, meaning the best, biggest, and most epic should play last on each stage.
Second Stage:
Fugazi Boogie Down Productions Husker Du Mighty Mighty Bosstones Dead Kennedys Primus Sublime Public Enemy Anthrax Faith No More
Main Stage:
Johnny Cash Alice Cooper The Clash Bob Dylan Black Sabbath Rush Jimi Hendrix Iron Maiden The Who Led Zeppelin

Well, that IS weird. I had created something almost identical to this thread a few weeks ago but my computer didn't save it and I lost it. I didn't do the "dream" festival stuff, so points to you for that.
OK, so what's difficult for me is that a lot of my smaller more personal acts ARE my all-time greats. But I'll take a stab. Since it's my dream and everything, I'm going to put some preferred time periods in here.
Second Stage:
Bis 1990's Redd Kross Wannadies Ash Does It Offend You, Yeah? Belle & Sebastian Dandy Warhols Terrorvision Placebo Manic Street Preachers (Holy Bible era with Richey Edwards)
Main Stage
Sex Pistols (70's line up) Nirvana R.E.M Blur Arcade Fire David Bowie (70's era) The Beatles (70's beardy weirdy era, none of that screaming teen stuff) Rolling Stones (70's era) Prince
I'm sure there are some names I've forgotten on there, but I'd be pretty happy with that line up. There'd be no "fuck it, let's go get some food" bands on that show.

Yeah, I'd definitely go to that show. When you say 70's line-up Pistols, is that with Sid Vicious or Glen Matlock? Sid couldn't play for shit and regularly had his bass shut off because he was so bad, but he was also more likely to berate the audience and assault somebody so his entertainment value was through the roof. I love that you didn't specify which era for Prince. In any era, he's just Prince.

Main Stage:
R.E.M. Radiohead Nirvana The Melvins Alice in Chains Bedouin Soundclash Genesis (Peter Gabriel era) Pink Floyd A Perfect Circle Tool

So, I had this pinned a while ago, back in July when the duo, Curmudgious Prime went to T in the Park. I was spurred to do what I would consider my perfect festival. OK, it's not two stages it's a bit more but every careful bit of planning went into this. Low, mid and high card performers. I am ready for an onslaught of disagreements but this is Kaifest. I am sure I came up with a much better name but I can't remember it. It took me a while to write up so typing it is not something I fancy doing. If you can't read what I have wrote - ask Enjoy.

And the winner for "most insanely diverse lineup" goes to Quillford. You know you're in for quite a weekend when The Distillers, Shirley Bassey, Tom Jones, and Slipknot are playing with Skrillex, Johnny Cash, Limp Bizkit, and Bryan Adams.

I had to balance out the genre's. So every stage had a good mix of people. Sadly half the people I would want to see would be missed down to head liners like Nirvana and Bowie. Ideally I would like to live this festival 5 times. Each time a new stage for the weekend. I can't imagine I would need to go to any concert again ever after that. As for Mr C's line up, MAN what a line up, I only say that because I don't recognise a couple of TCM's line up - you knowledgeable music fan you. It's safe to say all three line up's I have seen on here are awesome and all three would be a totally different experience. My question is where is Mrs C's? What gives?

Quillford that list looks like something a serial killer would smear on the wall in his own blood and shit. Still, you're the only person who even came close to Judy Garland, so props to you for that. Lemex, I'd never even thought of Radiohead. I'd have to be a philistine and ask for OK Computer era Radiohead though. 9 minute nose flute solo's are fine and everything, but I want to hear the hits, dammit.
Trashy - if I'm being ultra picky, I'd prefer early to mid 90's Prince with the classic New Power Generation line-up. Any Prince is awesome live, but that was when he was truly untouchable.
